DEDICATED EP
12 Inch
02.02.09
a new beginning is always an euphoric and scary step towards the unknown. the euphoria comes right after the original idea, when first signs of feasibility are shown. then comes reality. i think that nobody is able to eradicate reality (or what a common society sees of it) out of his mind, though art allows us to escape temporally this fiction. its not an easy task to achieve and artists hold in their hands, intellects, souls and guts a great responsibility. terpsichór? will be a support that transfers this responsibility to others: the artists, the public, the crowd, the souls, the dancefloor
THE HAGUE SOUL
12 Inch
02.02.09
amsterdam hits up the scene with a new imprint once more. after some years of friendship and some projects in the studio together, kabale und liebe and lauhaus team up again. this time to launch a new label. soweso records. with soweso records kabale und lauhaus want to put out new school house music. first up is the young and talented makam from the hague, holland. with his vintage sound he builts the perfect bridge between old- and newschool house music. the a side, the hague soul, is a real chicago house stomper with a character of its own. heavy beats, nagging synth sounds and a raw voice, all on a mission to prove that the hague is the soulful city. the b1, exception, is like a young thomas bangalter meets moodymann. here makam is freaking with his filterknobs, leaving the crowd waiting until he is ready to burst. bomb! on the b2 kabale und lauhaus pair up for a deeper remix that gives a more chemical end flowy vibe to the original of the hague soul. early support by karotte, nick curly, matthias kaden, johnny d and matthew dear

12 Inch
30.01.09
techhead recordings proudly presents its 10th release in a row called uber hinaus mythos. the record includes the original track uber hinaus mythos by gabriel ben and 3 remixes made by the likes of marcelinho cic, daniel d and the duo john karagiannis & pay lip service trying to cover sounds of different tastes. an allrounder, but a solid one. first off the original version is a full-throttle techno affair with punchy kicks made by one of the most promising artists in the scene. on the same side the remix by john karagiannis & paylipservice is one more proof of their vigorous and diverse sound. on the other side the remix of marcelinho cic is a very efficient floor-filler track while the driving techno sound of daniel d s remix provide the proper dance-floor material!

STROBO REVENGE
12 Inch
28.01.09
claque musique present their fifth release, which is a technoid gem from hugo (already responsible for the brilliant third 12 inch on the label, entitled born to bop) called strobo revenge. another zany electronic bullet that is destined to cause mayhem on dancefloors worldwide! on the a side, jumping beats, vocal mirages and compressed synths create the groove on the original mix of the title track. a fizzing bassline and echoing whistles enter later on and they give the track a slice of claque musique zaniness. a2, prismatic visual, is a powerful floor filler, which is slightly less crazy then its musical partner. hugo uses dependable percussion, watery synth action and inviting vocals to create this musical treat. on the flip side, carola pisaturo brings us a moody version of strobo revenge that squeezes something else out of those whistles. she employs heads down percussion, vocal shards and smooth synths on her version. portable/bodycode heightens the intensity with a jackin rerub that sends the track in another direction completely. marching beats, acidic synths and hollow bass drops work wonders on abrahams revision
CLAYMORE
12 Inch
28.01.09
united by a simple question as what is electro?, the two young english producers of joe and will ask? have spent the last two years creating dirty, cutting edge productions and taking over the london club scene. with an eye firmly on the dance floor, but also with effortless musicality not normally associated with techno, theyve won over fans from the band / indie scene, as well as diehard clubbers. they inject tonality and musical flow into everything they touch, all under the banner of techno or electro or whatever you would like to call it, and have been compared to justice, soulwax, dim and popof. after several eps, acclaimed by the likes of brodinski kris menace, vicarious bliss, casper c and autokratz to name a few, here comes their first release on kitsuné. claymore, delivers a tensed and breathtaking swoop with obsessive rhythms, while take me away with its strong rock energy and vocal hook, will set all the dancefloors on fire
GREEN AND BLUE EP
12 Inch
28.01.09
already supported and played by djulz, mathias kaden, brothers vibe, tadeo, falko brocksieper... rosario is back to esperanza with our beloved franco cinelli. evolving on every single release, franco makes a strong comeback after his warehouse ep. the a side >green & blue<, that also names the ep, shows us his style in full effect with grooooovy percussive hints, analog touches, old school flavour and lot of sunrays. on the flipside, damian schwartz reworks the track turning it into a trippy detroit house affair perfect for every real >party lover< (yeah, for the ones who stay until late). >blue before sunrise< is the track for late night, sunset, sunrise, afterparty, warmup, etc. versatile, isnt it? but such a beautiful relaxed atmospheric song should be part of any classy session. enjoy the beats! its limited to vinyl and just 500 copies!.
MOODS / MINAMIX
12 Inch
26.01.09
rockford inc. is sullivan sawyer and dwight jenkins who put their souls into their computer and see what comes back out. in this case, its >like a rock<, a contemplative slow-burner that spreads itself over 11 minutes. on the b-side, >minas theme< is an uplifting melodic house tune, drenched in optimism, the ideal antidote for dreary dancefloors.
UNEXPECTED EP
12 Inch
26.01.09
the next installment from the new beyond imprint is with us, featuring two newcomers from the thriving us underground, kapuchon & benny rodriques. the pair bring a magical detroit infused collection of warm, urgent and modern house music into our peripheral vision where its simply hard to ignore … like a well loved vintage drum machine tweaked to perfection, or a dusty old synth rejuvinated, >and again< draws inspiration from the rich synthesised landscapes of classic detroit techno, however adds a totally fresh and modern aesthetic, through its use of precise drum fills and beatifully crafted harmonies. on a more thoughful, soulful tip, >unexpected< unravells itself with smooth chord atmospheres, driving, solid-state percussion and teasing delay fx. the story might be a familar one to those who have their ears firmly pressed to the dancefloor, but for good reason, as these two fine storytellers have crafted a golden moment for the late, late hours. the acidic ride of >potato tomato<, with its pushing sub bass and glistening crescendos is perhaps the toughest cut of the e.p, and delivers the energy where its needed whilst still holding onto that classic, deep-as-dawn chicagotodetroit vibe.
TWIN INFINITIVES (2X12)
2x12 Inch
26.01.09
first vinyl pressing of twin infinitives since the original vinyl issue in 1990. after moving to san francisco, royal trux released the highly experimental double album twin infinitives. this album remains an extreme work on the periphery of rock music, worthy of being compared to lou reeds metal machine music and suicides debut album. at only four subdivided tracks, none of which clock in under 15 minutes, the record has plenty of time to weave a mesmerizing web that is sometimes menacing, sometimes startling. for all of its high brow allusions, twin infinitives nearly reeks of vice, a dark, sordid feel pervades the record, and the listener can almost picture the band recording in a filthy apartment in the middle of the night in various states of intoxication and debauchery.

played by: ricardo villalobos, sebo k, brothers vibe, loco dice, dj deep (deeply rooted), karotte, nick curly and more... !!after the last fantastic release on fumalab we now make a stop in southern america – to be precise: in santiago de chile. there is a lot going on in chiles electronic music scene and dj felipe valenzuela is one of the agitators of the night in santiago de chile with one foot in latin america and the other one in the old continent. he is a fresh, young, and talented producer. we will hear a lot from him in the future … he took piano lessons for a long time and his first producer steps started in 1995. felipe is a dj since 2002. he organized small underground parties in santiago de chile shortly after he travelled to europe, especially spain. from this experience, great alliances have been created with bookings and excellent agencies. >alicante< is a spherical and hypnotic track which takes you on a journey through chile. there are spoken words in combination with a dreamy chorus and typical sounds from latin america. alicante evolved from a team work as rockit-f. this is felipe valenzuela together with fernanda diaz. >dive< is a percussive, mental track with sound snatches ranked together with a very special feeling. its a long trip – call it a lesson into rhythm and drums. the music kicks you discreet the whole time. >dive< emerged from collaborating with felipe venegas. hes also known from releases on immigrant

BUMP & HUSTLE MUSIC (RED VINYL)
12 Inch
23.01.09
stone cold classic funky disco floor filler thats stood the test of time. first time ever on 12inch!!! taken from the hard to find self titled lp by tommy stewart, bump & hustle music is the definitive disco funk party anthem. it was recorded in 1976 in atlanta, georgia, and since then the lp has found itself in the play boxes of soul, funk and jazz djs alike. however, its not until now that this amazing song has finally made it onto the preferred format of dance djs the world over – the 45rpm 12inch single. in 1976 tommy stewart was a busy man, working as an arranger, producer, performer and writer for a host of soul and rnb artists. the lp made for abraxas records was the first to go directly under his name, and although it failed to take off locally, the lp soon became known by djs across the world primarily for the club smash bump & hustle music. as it happens that song in particular almost didnt exist but for tommy needing to come up with something quick in order to fill in a gap in the album. conceived and recorded on the spur of the moment, and with backing vocals by isaac hayes singers hot buttered soul overdubbed later, its a superb example of rhythmic simplicity blended with soulful, catchy harmonies. its just impossible to listen to bump & hustle music without a broad smile coming to your face, and when played loud in a club, its impossible not to dance!

GOLD COAST / LAUHAUS REMIX
12 Inch
21.01.09
with the majority of deep electronic music being provided via europes minimal hive - berlin, its an enlightening prospect that one of belgiums key players in the scene is behind the musical direction of new imprint miconn records. having produced a string of successful remixes of artists including chab and bedrocks polefolder, whilst appearing regularly across his native club scene, it was only a matter of time before miquell santos turned his attention to a dedicated output for his music. whilst an exciting new remix of rennie fosters slamming >devils water< is being released in 2009 on rebirth, the debut release under his hermanez moniker is scheduled for an appropriate new year release on 12inch . turning his production to a more early morning vibe, >gold coast< is a carefully selected debut of crisp deep house beats with just enough wonky additions for even the most demanding of minimal heads

TIME AND AGAIN / MARKUS LANGE REMIX
12 Inch
20.01.09
neo-trance theme !!! angels of kindness are seesawing in their fluffy clouds while eavesdropping the new opus - and yes, one can easily call it an opus - of catekk. dunning the sound creeps up (up from the viennese flex club?) through this mundane labyrinth. muse awakened the apocalyptic riders with its kiss and instead of the twilight of gods you are served subtle grooves, which only admit zeus sharp lightning to pass through the thunderclouds of bass. thunderstorm and labyrinth makes, how could it else be? a markus lange remix, who obviously enjoyed remixing this big theme, while following catekks traces in the wind. whos still missing? yes, newbornchristians must be around, when it comes to remixes with the perfect relation between foolishness and intelligence.

DOWN UNDER INFLUENCE

19.01.09
there is no doubt that leipzig is a pulsating place in terms of electronic music. however, the potential of the city seems to be experiencing a new surge - not least due to up-and-coming producers like sven tasnadi and stefan schultz aka juno6. both belong to the generation of musicians who initially released their tracks for free on net-labels but have since have made the leap to vinyl. while sven tasnadi has already released great eps on liebe*detail, smallville records and of course on cargo edition, juno6 just recently made his debut with >salamis< in spring 2008 on broque. now they have joined forces with their first collaboration for cargo edition. both tracks on the ep are characterised by elaborate rhythms, a special deepness and intricately arranged sounds. >aramis< tells apparently different stories which merge seamlessly during its 14 minutes. the track also explores the hypnotic moments on the dancefloor in a very subtle and complex manner - reduced but full of vibrancy at the same time. >genau so< on the b-side takes a similar line, but adds a spark of funk, which combines to form its distinctive rhythm. sven tasnadi & juno6 have created two modern house tracks which are full of character.

rezkars fascination with music began with his parents record collection. listening to local radio stations as a child, he heard 80s tracks. as an adult he discovered the magic of 60s and 70s jazz and funk. one day, his cousin played a track that he immediately fell in love with. he later learned that this was house music. he discovered the fruity loops sequencer software and thought, why not try to make my own tracks, after all, it cant really be that hard? deep house can sound deceptively simple. its a bit like japanese anime, rezkar says. it looks so cute and easy to draw, but try to actually draw it, and you will discover its even harder than realistic drawings. the thing about house is that if you try too hard it can come across as being very cheesy, but then again, if you dont do enough it can sound incomplete. finding the balance is not easy, rezkar admits. after hearing his music, one finds that he is learning this lesson quite well.

big support from: gregor tresher, loco dice, sebo k, nick curly, 2000andone, mirko loco and agnes.... tsuba starts 2009 with a bang with the first 12inch release on the label from rising star okain. having debuted on tsuba in july 2008 on the digital only >tsuba samurai ep<, sam okain steps up with his first full release for the label and its a big one. the original of >717< is deep tech house with a killer groove and a warm tripped out riff - a great combination of light and dark touches which results in an edgy but very accessible track. for the remix djulz ups the tempo and adds a splash of techno, spine tingling keys and jacking bassline. loco dice featured the mix on his recent radio 1 essential mix. the deep house of >slow ride< completes an ep of the highest quality. + huge djulz remix.

THE PUMP EP
12 Inch
12.01.09
the pump ep is a typically genre-bending mixture of pumping, groovy house tracks, exploring the many sides of this highly regardedproducers fruitful repertoire. lead track the pump is a vivacious number that takes a clean, modern house aesthetic as a base and later infuses it with a dirtier, earlier morning vibe, with phoniques playful use of the resplendent chord stabs. its a slow burner indeed, and yet another example of his effortless arrangement talents. fancying a spot of fresh air and a trip into the audio countryside, bike ride is an even more playful journey into the kooky electronic world of phoniques studio outings. solid drums and warm sub bass provide the energy for all manner of pops and tweaks to unfold. its another deeper track but be warned it still has the power to lift a crowd up onto its tip-toes. going down more of a techno route, tooltime completes the package and breaks out the big guns for some serious heads down dancefloor ignition. urgent and tight late night action, not for the faint of heart, the tracks title is too modest - it should really read ‚ peak time

after his huge >pepper exchange vol. 1<, anton zap is back with more spicey house music. moscows finest offers 4 warehouse esque deep house groovers and proves that without a shadow of a doubt hes one who you need to keep close tabs on. on quintessentials 05, anton keeps his >pepper exchange< style: stripped back, & raw! its pure, back to its roots simple groove quality which works so well with anton zaps new 12inch. but like a lot of antons music, deep atmospherics play a big part and this is why his music has that standout from the rest feel. its not often that you come across a ep where all the tracks are playable, but even less often where all the tracks make you step back and appreciate them much more than you normally would. essential house music for those looking for the simple soul filled stripped back house feel
